CH Advance |
| Description: |
Like so many things our regional communications will give you ‘more than you expect’.
Think you’re leaving twenty first century communications behind when you come to Central Queensland? You are in for a pleasant surprise.
Broadband internet of some form is available virtually everywhere with many locations able to access ADSL 2 and other business grade data services. Our CH Advance website will help with available options and other broadband information.
If you need it, public internet access is available through the regions libraries and a number of cafe’s and accommodation establishments provide their own services. Our public internet map will show you where you can get online, just follow the link.
Most of our towns have mobile coverage from both major carriers and coverage in rural areas is always improving. Check your carriers coverage maps for the latest information.
The Central Highlands Development Corporation and Central Highlands Regional Council appreciate the value of modern communications technology and are working to ensure the region keeps pace. You may be out of the rat race but you won’t be out of touch. |

Central Highlands Skills Formation Strategy |
| Description: |
The Central Highlands Skills Formation Strategy, funded by the Department of Education and Training, is examining workforce issues across the Central Highlands region. With an initial focus on local government it has now expanded to engage employers and industry to examine issues relating to the attraction, recruitment, development, utilisation and retention of their workforce. A major part of this is the WorkAway Central Highlands project which is providing a job-matching service to the regions employers and visitors. The creation of an employer-driven reference group, formulating an action and communication plan, industry breakfasts and continued work with local workforce networks are other goals of the project. With a December 2009 finish-date, the project aims to leave a sustainable framework for engaging stakeholders who are proactively managing their workforce interests to create more opportunities in business and employment in this region |
