Central Highlands Business Awards 2009
The 2009 Central Highlands Business Awards were presented at a gala dinner on Saturday 22nd August following the judging and voting for local businesses. The judges remarked on the quality of presentations and business plans, as well as on the variety of businesses represented. The Emerald Chamber of Commerce was very satisfied with this year’s People Choice Award and are looking forward to conducting it again in 2010. The Central Highlands Development Corporation (CHDC) would like to thank the judges, the Emerald Chamber of Commerce and all the participants as a proud sponsor of this great event. This year, the overall winner for People’s Choice Award was beauty salon “Beau Modelle” and the overall Judged Award winner was “Central Therapy”. Central Highlands Events Calendar 2010
The Central Highlands Development Corporation is compiling a 2010 Events Calendar for the whole of the Central Highlands region. If you have any events you would like included in the events calendar contact Robyn Matheson on 4982 4386 or email the details to rmatheson@chdc.com.au. Please include the date of the event, a brief description of the event, where the event will be held and contact details for the person responsible for the even. The events calendar will be updated and circulated quarterly with the CHDC Communiqué. Download current calendar here.
QantasLink Boosts Capacity for Queensland
QantasLink has announced an expanded flying schedule from 6 April 2010 across regional Queensland. Customers in Bundaberg, Emerald and Gladstone will be offered additional services as the airline takes delivery of its 20th 74-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft. The new schedule would create further travel opportunities for regional communities and benefit local business and tourism. For Emerald travellers an additional two Q400 Brisbane return services each week will be added to the QantasLink flight schedule. To find out more information, download the full Qantas media release.
